Lawrence Martin Kling opened his first jewelry store, Guys-Dolls in 1947 designing unique hand wrought jewelry in gold, silver, mixed metals; sometimes using gems or wood accents to develop variations on his freeform, sculptured designs. Some of Larry's pieces are organic, textured, at times almost caressing or intertwining metal with gems; others are polished. sleek, modern with an edge. They are elegant with fine craftsmanship, as contemporary today as they were when he first began designing more than sixty years ago.
After 35 years in business in Westwood Village, CA and Carmel-By-the-Sea, CA... Larry and Guys-Dolls are back! All of the jewelry available through lmkling.com is authentic Lawrence Martin Kling hand crafted jewelry not available to the public for over twenty years.
Larry also supported mid-century jewelry from well-known designers such as Hogan-Bolas and their copper & enamel earrings, Hans Hansen's collection of beautiful Sterling Silver bracelets, vintage Finnish designer pieces from Lapponia as well as Pat Roland's enameling over some of Larry's Sterling Silver design jewelry.
